Up until this past summer, I hadn’t played golf in almost 20 years. So I am a little bit rusty. I use to play a lot when I was in my teens and early 20’s. And, I use to be able to hit pretty long with the driver. But then life got in the way. I put on some weight, and also have some back and shoulder issues. So, I could no longer swing the club like I use to and was slicing it and chunking it and even sometimes missing the ball all together.
But one day on the interwebs I came across a video of a guy who was built kind like me who had similar issues, using a flatter swing. It helped him swing the club easier for his body type, hit the ball straight and with less effort. I thought maybe I should try it and see what happens.
So I worked on trying to sort of mimic it. Took me a little bit at 1st, but once I got it down pretty much (it’s not quite there yet but close), I was hitting the ball a lot straighter! And, it does seem to need less effort!
I don’t know that I hit it real far or what the the club head speed is, but it just seems I don’t really need to swing very hard and it pops off the Tee pretty good, or at least good enough for me. Now maybe I can find the fairway a lot more often instead of sending those bananas into the stickers. I will be happy about that!
Anyway! I know it looks a bit funny, but it worked for me most of the time out there on the range. Can’t wait to get out on the course and try it!
Good luck out on the course!
