Antiviruses – Which One Should You Use?

Norton, McAfee, Avast, etc, etc! Which one is the best?

All these commercial programs are ok. They do what they are designed to do, most of the time! But, they don’t do any good, just sitting there without being used! You need to do a manual FULL virus scan once in a while. At least every three weeks or even more often! Also, make sure you keep these programs updated, if you use them!

If you are not sure how to use any of these programs, all of them offer help sections and “official” youtube videos that can help you! It just might take some reading. And, if you still don’t know what to do, feel free to contact me!

And, this is just my opinion! Save your money! All these commercial products work, but can be a serious resource hog on your computer. If you know what you are doing, I recommend totally removing them from your computer. But don’t run your computer without an antivirus!

Note: I take no responsibility if you decide to do this! It is at your own risk! A lot of these pre-installed antivirus programs, can be seriously intertwined in your system and removing them can be very difficult and can damage your file system! Also, don’t remove them if you have some kind of contract arrangement with a special discount offer you got at the computer store, or you could end up paying full price!

So then what do you use?

windows defender

If you are running Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10, it already comes with a good FREE (included) antivirus/malware program installed! It is called Windows Defender! It is very simple to use. If you have it, make sure it is turned on! It is especially designed to run on Windows computers! Also if your Windows firewall is off, turn it on too! Then run a full scan of your computer. If it finds anything, let Windows remove it for you. Most of the time, you just have to push a button to get it done. POOF! Virus gone! Restart your computer! Then make sure you keep it updated!

If you still have issues! Check out Microsoft support here! There is a lot of help there available for FREE! Chances are, someone has reported the same issue you are having, and with the help of the community, fixed it themselves.

Cheers!

P.S. I love getting feedback from my readers. Unfortunately I have had to disable the comments section because I get way too many spam posts and junk that just makes no sense. I just don’t have time to sift through all that. So if you want to leave me feedback, please use the contact me page! Thank You!
